LaFountaine, 89, of Silver Springs, formerly of Onchiota and Plattsburgh, died Friday (Sept. 7, 2012) at East Side Nursing Home in Warsaw where she had been residing. She was born in Plattsburgh Feb. 19, 1923, daughter of the late Harry and Florence (Ross) Myers. Mrs. Fountaine was a 1941 graduate of Lion Mountain High School. She was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her three daughters as well as knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She is preceded in death by her husband Victor P. LaFountaine whom she married in 1945; he died in 1981; a daughter, Patricia “Susie” Moomey who died in 1998; and siblings and their spouses Frances (George) Remes, Patricia (John) Gill, Jane (Ralph) Compagnone, Peggy (Douglas) St. John, and Harry and Ross Myers. She is survived by two daughters, Joan (Brian) Salisbury of Endicott and Bonnie (David) Davis of Perry; a son-in-law, Charles Moomey of Endicott; a sister, Doris McCaully of Plattsburgh; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. There is no prior visitation. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in the Merrillsville Cemetery, Loon Lake.
