KENDALL — Mrs. Dorothy M. Hering, 75, of Roosevelt Highway died Tuesday (Sept. 4, 2012) at her residence following a long illness.
She was born April 20, 1937, in Muncy, Pa., to the late Albert and Martha (Winder) Lawson and had lived in this area for more than 50 years. Dorothy had retired from General Motors after working there for over 18 years. She enjoyed going to flea markets and riding with her late husband Don in the 1964 Mustang.
Mrs. Hering was predeceased by her husband Donald C. Hering Jr., and brother-in-law Kenneth Kerstetter.
She is survived by her sister, Patty Kerstetter of Pennsylvania, special friends and caretakers who she considered as her daughters: Beverly Herman and Rose Carter; brothers-in-law, Ronald (Leona) Hering of Kendall, Richard (Barb) Hering of Kendall, Larry (Ellen) Hering of Kent; close friends, Mary Herring of Kendall, Mary Perez of Hamlin, Marilyn(Paul)Knobler of Montana, 14 nieces and nephews including Mike (Virginia) Kerstetter, Kathy Kerstetter, as well as great nieces and nephews and many friends.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Ave., Albion, where Dorothy’s funeral service will be held immediately following visitation beginning at 2.
