thedailynewsonline.com 10 September 2012 BLISS — Carl J. Youngers, 80, of Clark Road, Bliss, died Saturday (Sept. 8, 2012) at The Pines of Machias. He was born March 1, 1932, in Strykersville, a son of the late Andrew and Helean Fugle Youngers. He owned and operated his own dairy farm for many years and was a member of St. Mary’s Church in East Arcade. He was a member of the former Bliss Kiwanis, the Knights of Columbus in Yorkshire, Loyal Order of the Moose 560 in Warsaw, Upstate Milk Co-op, Safari Club and the Eagle Riders Snowmobile Club. He served on the board of directors of what is now the Community Bank in Yorkshire and also served as a councilman for the town of Eagle for several years. He is survived by his wife, Joan Eck Youngers, whom he married Nov. 21, 1953, in East Arcade; six children, Suzanne Youngers of Leicester, Sandra (Robert) Baylor of Bliss, Patricia Gebauer of Arcade, Peggy Youngers of Arcade, Thomas (Cindy) Youngers of Bliss and Tina Youngers of Bliss; five sisters, Teresa Neamon of Arcade, Margaret Eddy of North Java, Betty (Robert) Koerner of Bliss, Rosemary (Richard) Almeter of Strykersville and Ann Koerner of Portageville; two brothers, Richard (Dorothy) Youngers of Warsaw and Andrew (Marlene) Youngers of Elma; 13 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; 10 step-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Youngers and a sister, Mary Roche. Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at W.S. Davis Funeral Home Inc., 358 West Main St., Arcade. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Church in East Arcade. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
